Hi I’m Oksana!
Welcome to my inspiring journey!!
Your Newborn and Maternity Photographer
About me.
_______________________________________________________________________________
I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was eleven. Being born in Russia and having limited access to photography, all I have is one little album that holds my entire childhood. It’s better than nothing, but it’s probably the reason I am obsessed with capturing every moment. Visual memorabilia is really important to me. You think you won’t forget… but you will. Time passes and kids change right before our eyes without us noticing it.
I am not one to do the same thing over and over again. I thrive on mixing things up and doing something different most of the time. I have so many ideas floating around in my head. When it comes to planning out your newborn session, I am probably going to spend a good hour getting my studio ready, trying to land a few of my ideas. I am constantly updating my props, my floors and my backdrops to inspire me to do something different. And the editing… don’t get me started on my excitement to open up all the images in photoshop and see what I can transform them into.
I was a surgical Oral Surgery assistant by trade. I have worked in the industry for over 10 years, mastering every position it offered. Thanks to Covid, I’ve had to let that go and focus only on my art. I couldn’t be exposed like that to a virus and then come home and take photos of the most vulnerable.
I love photography and pour all my energy into creating and learning it! I am continuously taking courses, and doing workshops and retreats to do my best job. As of June 2020, I am now an award-winning photographer thanks to Birth and Beyond Photography Awards. Placing 3rd place in the International Newborn Posed category.
I have loved babies for as long as I can remember. Having had two of my very own, I don’t get too riled up by much. So don’t you worry, I work with what I get. I have come to find that one can truly create a masterpiece out of even the messiest of situations. My goal is to capture and save your moments. Even the imperfect ones. Because I promise you, one day it will be funny, or sweet or even forgotten about.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you soon.
